Promoting international cultural exchange and cooperation

Serbian Institute for Public Diplomacy actively promotes bilateral/ multilateral artistic exchange with various international entities and encourages joint cultural production.

Buddha Bar – Balkanika Project

Thanks to our involvement, successful cooperation was established between the Buddha Bar DJ Sam who visited Serbia in September 2005 and participated in a concert organized by Balkanika during the European Basketball Championship.

The cooperation was further deepened by Buddha Bar’s decision to include four Serbian songs on the world famous Buddha Bar compilation. The Balkan Vocals and Korana are two songs by Balkanika featuring on Buddha Bar VIII that came out in February 2006. One song by Biber and one by Vasilisa have been selected too.

Balkan Oasis

The goal of this project is to show off the spicy and beautiful side of the Balkans to the unsuspecting partygoers of Europe and the world.

The party concept was first launched on 6 June 2006 by the European Commission interns and around a thousand people gathered at the canalside setting of the K-nal club to experience an unforgettable night of partying Balkan style. Delicious food and drinks were served from Greece, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Turkey. To see the photos of the party, click here.

Since the kick-out event, Brussels-based partygoers from all corners of Europe have witnessed three unforgettable editions of Balkan Oasis party at Kafka, Foo's Bar and Phoenix bar.

The concept was intended for people to have fun, but also to learn about all the Balkan riches.
